Welcoming Joan Brown to Team Cristosal
Please join us in welcoming Joan Baumgartner Brown as our new Resource Development Coordinator! Joan joined us on August 1 and is based in Fort Wayne, IN. (This will be our first time having this position based in North America, close to our board, donors, and volunteers.) Joan’s responsibilities encompass working with our board, donors, and volunteers to raise support from individuals, faith communities, and other private funding sources in North America.
“It’s such a rare thing when the concerns of your heart and your everyday work are intertwined. I’m so pleased to join the team at Cristosal and have that intersection.
"I’ve already experienced the passion and commitment within the team and am looking forward to learning more about the work, getting to know the staff, and connecting with our loyal family of supporters.”
Joan brings a wealth of experience to the resource development role. She has worked with international and domestic organizations of diverse size, mission, and footprint, including several at critical moments in their growth. For the past eight years, Joan has had her own consulting firm based in Fort Wayne, IN. Her clients have included Family for Every Child/Family Alliance, an international adoption NGO; Project AmaZon, a church-planting/leadership development organization based in Brazil; and the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. Prior to her consultancy, Joan worked in a number of staff roles, including as President/General Manager of Northeast Indiana Public Radio; Chief Development Officer for Sojourners, the national faith-based peace and social justice organization; and Executive Director of the Foundations for the Parkview Regional Health System in Fort Wayne.
