Remembering Central American Refugees in Our Lenten Prayers
As we prepare ourselves for the Paschal Feast during Lent, we are mindful of the passage from Micah 6:8, “What is good and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
We call special attention to the need for a just and compassionate response for families in Central America who are forced by violence to flee their homes. These are primarily poor woman and children who, instead of refuge and protection, are often met with closed doors and hostile voices both at home and abroad.
We offer the following materials to remember them in our prayers and reflect on living out our Baptismal Covenant this Lenten Season.
